Processing speed

Hi all,
We are planning to include acolite as a step in the workflow of a production environment. Are there any parameters to adjust which could increase the speed of processing and reduce memory/CPU load? Or would any acolite release run more efficiently than another?
I can attach my current settings configuration, if needed.
