This error occurs when ACOLITE is launched from a different directory that also contains a "data" directory. The solution is to launch ACOLITE either from its own directory, or from a location where there is no "data" directory. See also here.
Handling of the relative paths in config.txt was changed on the GitHub, and this fix will be included in future binaries.
