Got it and thanks.

On "Rayleigh corrected reflectance is computed as: (rhot - rorayl) / tr, with rorayl the Rayleigh reflectance and tr the two-way Rayleigh transmittance"

rho_t=rho_r+rho_a+tt0*rho_w (for pixels without glint, whitecaps, etc).

Combining these two equations (and ignoring aerosol transmittance on rho_w - i.e., tt0=tr), you get rhorc=(rho_a/tr) + rho_w.

So the rho_a term embedded in rhorc is artificially modified (raised) by tr.?

Yes, the Rayleigh corrected reflectance computed here is like assuming there are no aerosols. If there are aerosols the signal is indeed amplified as if it were coming from the surface.

The transmittance is provided in the global attributes of the NetCDF, so you can add it back in if that's needed for your application.

Hope this helps!
